From the Designers, Pin-Up Houses: "This experimental shed is a hybrid between a cabinet and a garden hut. It is basically a garderobe for the outdoors, thus we call it the Gardenrobe. This 20-by-4-foot structure serves many functions, including storage spaces that vary in size, a chicken coop, a rainwater collector, and a small solar panel that powers a light and outlets to charge your gadgets. This unique building is made up of wooden beams and waterproof construction plywood. Since Gardenrobe is anchored on ground screws, it can be disassembled and reassembled easily wherever you prefer it to stand. This is made possible by an ingenious, red-painted frame which supports the lightweight roof while at the same time providing a structure that holds different sizes of storage boxes. Individual parts of the frame are secured by nuts and bolts. By far, the dominant feature of Gardenrobe is its raised pigeon loft, which gives this horizontal shed a practical vertical counterbalance. Gardenrobe proves that even such a common and practical structure as a shed can be creatively designed and become an architectural landmark in your garden."

From cozy cottages to large family houses, see how prefab continues to redefine the future of construction, building, and design.
